Critique with the mentors went really well today! We got a lot of feedback that can immediately be acted upon. I made a list of everything my team needs to get done by the end of the quarter for this project, some things may be taken off of it, but overall it is everything we need to get to the finish line.
Main points overall
De-saturate the lack of color pre-skittles, color grading needs to be enhanced.
Cut more on action, breathing counts
A02:
Modification of previous A01, A02, A02B and B02 - single beat of establishing the painting as a painting
other paintings will be in frame that are in color, but not our hero painting, our actor walks into frame still with the skittles
Kulin is in-charge of getting the new frame suggested by the mentors, and Saw is helping him find stock footage that can be used for the establishing shot of the painting surrounded by other paintings
A03:
Different take of A02, but without the frame placeholder allowing for the painting to be longer allowing to see the dress more - that interaction still happens, and the shot pushes in that shows our painter grab the skittles changing her to color to lead into her world turning into color
B02 & D01**:
Clean up the match move, adding in the set extension
C02**:
Change cut from movement
Set Extension perspective & spacing
Cleaning up integration & color transition
F02:
Color Matching & updated set extension

Kulin gave me 8 variations of the new frame. Additionally , this is the take without the frame for the actress to interact with, so I had to a bit of removal of the hand with the skittles. I personally like option 1 and option 3 the most.

I have been reworking the roto for A02 to fit the different take while I wait for the background for this shot variation. I am working on it in the same context as it was being worked on prior with the Vitmatte Cattery tool.

The roto currently for this shot and the masks being plugged into the shot along with the rest of the script

For A02N, we took footage that is from the MOMA, and under free use, tracked and plugged in a still of our painter. One option is on the left and the other in the middle. I also did this for stock footage from adobe that we might use as well.
